The Old Lion and the Fox

 

 

 

There was an old and sick lion.

 

The lion was old and sick, so it was not easy to hunt.

 

 

"If I stay like this, I will starve to death, not because of illness."

 

 

So the lion came up with a trick.

 

 

'The old lion is now on the verge of death, so say goodbye.'

 

 

The lion spread these rumors.

 

 

"Did you hear that? The lion might die."

 

"So. Before you die, you should say your last goodbye, right?"

 

"I'm busy today, so I'll go see you tomorrow. What about you?"

 

"I'm going to visit you today"

 

 

After hearing the rumor, each of the forest animals took time to visit the cave where the lion lived.

 

But as soon as I stepped into the cave, I became a lion's prey.

 

In the meantime, the quirky fox also came to the cave to say goodbye.

 

But he didn't go inside, but he was just hanging around outside the cave.

 

The lion, feeling the presence and preparing to hunt, got tired of waiting and called the fox first.

 

 

"Fox, if you came to say goodbye, you should come inside. What are you doing?"

 

 

Then the fox shouted outside.

 

 

"I can't get inside."

 

"You can't come in?"

 

 

Said the fox.

 

 

"Yes, there are footprints that went into the cave, but there are no footprints that came out.

I think I'll say goodbye here. Hello, Lion!"

 

 

 

늙은 사자와 여우

 

 

늙고 병이 든 사자가 있었습니다.

사자는 나이도 많고 몸도 아파서 사냥을 하기도 쉽지 않았습니다.

 

"이대로 있다가는 병 때문이 아니라 굶어 죽고 말겠다."

 

그래서 사자는 꾀를 내었습니다.

 

'늙은 사자가 이제 죽음을 눈앞에 두고 있으니 작별 인사를 하라.'

 

사자는 이런 소문을 낸 것입니다.

 

"들었어? 사자님이 돌아가실지도 모른대."

"그러게 말이야. 돌아가시기 전에 마지막 인사라도 해야겠지?"

"난 오늘 바쁘니 내일 찾아가 봐야겠어. 넌?"

"난 오늘 찾아가 볼 거야."

 

소문을 들은 숲속 동물들은 저마다 시간을 내서 사자가 사는 동굴로 찾아갔습니다.

하지만 동굴 안으로 발을 내딛는 순간 사자의 먹이가 되고 말았습니다.

그러던 중에 꾀돌이 여우도 작별 인사를 하러 동굴을 찾아왔습니다.

그런데 안으로 들어가지 않고 동굴 밖에서 서성이기만 했습니다.

인기척을 느끼고 사냥 준비를 하고 있던 사자는 기다리다 지쳐 먼저 여우를 불렀습니다.

 

"여우야, 작별 인사를 하러 왔으면 안으로 들어와야지 뭐하고있는게냐?"

 

그러자 여우가 밖에서 소리쳤습니다.

 

"안으로 들어갈수가 없어요."

"들어올수가 없다고?"

 

여우가 말했습니다.

 

"네, 동굴로 들어간 발자국은 있는데 밖으로 나온 발자국이 없거든요.

아무래도 저는 여기서 인사드리고 갈게요. 사자님, 안녕!"
