The Lion, the Fox and the Cold

 

 

A lion was prowling through the forest.

 

 

"Ugh, I have no energy after starving all day. But I can't seem to find a single mouse today of all days."

 

 

The lion clutched his rumbling stomach and looked around. That's when it happened. The sound of an animal's footsteps could be heard from somewhere.

 

 

"Right! Someone's coming,"

 

 

The lion lay still and waited for the footsteps to get closer. The owner of the footsteps turned out to be a young lamb.

 

 

"Hey, Can you look at me for a moment?"

 

 

The lion quickly blocked the path in front of the sheep.

 

 

"You're a lion. What's the matter?"

 

 

The sheep asked with an innocent face.

 

 

“Would you like to smell what my mouth smells like?”

 

 

The sheep unsuspectingly put its nose into the lion's mouth and sniffed it.

 

 

“Lion. It smells very bad.”

 

 

Sheep covered her nose and said. Then the lion became angry and angry.

 

 

“What? You are very rude.”

 

 

Then he immediately killed the sheep and ate it up.

 

 

"The sheep are too small, so even if we catch and eat them, we won't feel full.  Is there any other food?"

 

 

The lion loitered around again, looking around.  At that moment, the lion noticed a wolf in its sight.

The lion blocked the wolf's path with a sly grin on its face.

 

 

"Hey, Wolf."

"You're a lion. What's the matter?"

 

 

The lion opened his mouth wide again.

 

 

“Would you like to smell what my mouth smells like?”

 

 

The wolf, following orders, put its nose up to the lion's mouth and sniffed cautiously.  The lion's mouth smelled very bad.

But the wolf pretended to be innocent and said.

 

 

"I don't smell anything. The Lion."

 

 

Then the lion became angry and angry.

 

 

"What? You are very crafty."

 

 

Then he ate the wolf right away.  The lion ate sheep and wolves, but he was still hungry.

Then a fox caught lion eye. The lion quickly blocked the fox's way.

 

 

"Hey, Fox."

"You're a lion. What's the matter?"

 

 

The lion opened his mouth wide again.

 

 

“Would you like to smell what my mouth smells like?”

 

 

The fox suddenly coughed and spoke in a husky voice.

 

 

“I'm sorry, Lion. I have a bad cold right now, so I can't smell it.”

 

 

The fox saw through the insidious insides of the lion at once.

 

 

"Oh? Really?"

 

 

The lion scratched his head because he had no excuse to eat the fox.

 

 

 

 

사자와 여우와 감기

 

 

사자가 숲속을 어슬렁거리고 있었습니다.

 

“에휴, 하루종일 굶었더니 기운이 하나도 없군. 그런데 오늘따라 생쥐 한 마리 안 보이네.”

 

사자는 꼬르륵거리는 배를 움켜쥐고 주위를 살펴보았습니다.  그때였습니다. 어디선가 동물의 발자국소리가 들려왔습니다.

 

“옳지! 누군가 오는구나,”

 

사자는 가만히 엎드려서 발자국소리가 가까워지기를 기다렸습니다.  발자국의 주인공은 어린 양이었습니다.

 

“이봐, 나 좀 볼까?”

 

사자는 재빠르게 양의 앞길을 막아섰습니다.

 

“사자님이시네요. 무슨일이세요?”

 

양은 순진한 얼굴로 물었습니다.

 

“내 입에서 무슨 냄새가 나는지 맡아 볼래?”

 

양은 의심 없이 사자의 입에 코를 대고 킁킁 냄새를 맡았습니다.

 

“사자님. 아주 나쁜 냄새가 나요.”

 

양은 코를 막으며 말했습니다. 그러자 사자는 어흥하며 화를 냈습니다.

 

“뭐라고? 너는 아주 버릇이 없구나.”

 

그러고는 곧바로 양을 잡아먹어 버렸습니다.

 

“양이 너무 조그마해서 간에 기별도 안 가는군. 먹이가 또 어디 없을까?”

 

사자는 또다시 주위를 살피며 어슬렁거렸습니다.  그때 늑대 한 마리가 사자의 눈에 띄었습니다. 

사자는 빙그레 미소를 지으며 늑대의 앞길을 마셨습니다.

 

"이봐, 늑대야."

“사자님이시네요. 무슨일이세요?”

 

사자는 또 입을 크게 벌렸습니다.

 

“내 입에서 무슨 냄새가 나는지 맡아볼래?”

 

늑대는 시키는 대로 사자의 입에 코를 대고 킁킁 냄새를 맡았습니다.  사자의 입에서는 아주 고약한 냄새가 풍겼습니다.

하지만 늑대는 시치미를 떼고 말했습니다.

 

“아무 냄새도 나지 않아요. 사자님."

 

그러자 사자는 "어흥" 하며 화를 냈습니다.

 

"뭐라고? 너는 아주 간사하구나."

 

그러고는 곧바로 늑대를 잡아먹어 버렸습니다.  양과 늑대를 먹었지만 사자는 여전히 배가 고팠습니다.

그때 여우 한 마리가 눈에 띄었습니다. 사자는 얼른 여우의 앞길을 막아섰습니다.

 

"이봐, 여우야."

"사자님이시네요. 무슨일이세요?"

 

사자는 또 입을 크게 벌렸습니다.

 

"내 입에서 무슨 냄새가 나는지 맡아볼래?"

 

여우는 갑자기 기침을 하더니 쉰 목소리로 말했습니다.

 

"죄송해요, 사자님. 지금 감기가 심하게 걸려 있어서 냄새를 맡을 수가 없어요."

 

여우는 사자의 음흉한 속내를 단번에 꿰뚫어 본 것이었습니다.

 

"어? 그래?"

 

사자는 여우를 잡아먹을 핑계가 없어서 머리만 긁적였습니다.
